Basic information

BuzziTent BuzziSpace

Shaping space, silencing noise.

The BuzziTent acoustic panel, designed by Alain Gilles for BuzziSpace, is inspired by the relaxed atmosphere of French open-air guinguette cafés, bringing a sense of shelter and organic warmth to modern offices and hospitality venues. This suspended PET felt structure, featuring a tent-like geometry and a central ridge, effectively absorbs mid-to-high frequencies (human speech) to reduce echo and the cocktail party effect. Its unique shape traps sound waves from both the interior and exterior of the panel right overhead, where sound accumulates most. Whether specified as a singular piece or installed in a sequence, it visually divides the volume, defines zones, and improves acoustics without sacrificing airiness or ceiling height. Designed with circularity at its core, the panel is crafted from 60% recycled post-consumer plastics, and its components can be easily disassembled and fully recycled at the end of its life cycle.

For projects requiring both acoustic comfort and illumination, the BuzziTent Light variant combines top-tier acoustics with integrated LED lighting (Line Glow 140). A unique feature of this solution is the ability to control the atmosphere by adjusting the distance between the light source and the felt structure—increasing the distance creates a soft, ambient glow, while bringing it closer delivers a direct, functional architectural beam. Both aesthetic and functional appeal can be further elevated with an optional black ridge and connector system. This connector allows individual panels to be linked with 30 cm spacing, forming a continuous, rhythmic suspended ceiling that transforms standard surfaces into a designed architectural statement. It is ideal for suspension above workstations, meeting zones, and collaborative islands, helping to minimize cognitive fatigue and support focus and communication.
