For the reconstruction of the reception and entrance areas of the building of one of the most famous global IT companies, we were invited to help deal with the requirements of the highest European fire safety standards in escape zones. The reception area is equipped with HermanMiller RATIO height-adjustable tables, which can also be used for handicapped or disabled users, and comfortable ergonomic COSM work chairs, as requested by the client. The equipment is dominated by metal - Knoll PITON metal stools, and from the Magis brand, the BRUT collection, which was designed in 2017 by German designer Konstantin Grcic, is appreciated for its unconventional use of cast iron. The name "Brut" refers to both the rawness and weight of the material and the nobility of sparkling wine, which is a plate in contrast between massive industrial foundations and fine upholstery or tables.
The entire space is enlivened by unconventional MISTRAL design elements from the Italian company Mutina with the workshops of designers Barber & Osgerby. Mutina Mistral is a collection of three-dimensional architectural elements (bricks). This design is a modern interpretation of the traditional ventilation elements used in Italian rural architecture, which served to naturally ventilate barns. Interesting elements in the space are pieces from the Lyon Béton studio. Lyon Béton is a French design studio that specializes in making furniture and accessories from concrete. The brand transforms this raw industrial material into elegant and innovative interior elements that draw inspiration from Brutalism, Bauhaus and Art Deco.
