Designed by Richard Schultz, 1966
Richard Schultz designed the 1966 collection at the request of Florence Knoll, who, upon retirement, wanted outdoor furniture that could withstand the corrosive air of the Florida ocean. Over the years, the 1966 collection has earned a special place in the outdoor furniture world and is considered the first modern outdoor furniture. Since its inception, it has remained the standard in the category to this day. The frame is made of cast and extruded aluminum with a weather resistant polyester powder coat finish. The wheels are cast aluminum, with rubber tires with differential axle. Upholstery in woven polyester mesh covered with vinyl. Available in many colour variants.
