The functionalist building of the former Electric Companies in Prague Holešovice was at the time the most modern office building in Europe. Together with the Trade Fair Palace, it is one of Prague's functionalist jewels, which architects from all over the world used to visit. It was put into operation in 1935 and today it is a listed building with a number of unique technical solutions. These include the two original paternosters on the edges of the main staircase. The floor is also connected by a freight elevator with a capacity of 15 tons, designed for trucks, which at that time had no analogues. In 2021, the entire building underwent an expensive and very sensitive reconstruction. The core is the office part with the center of gravity in the five-story nave of the central hall lined with galleries around the perimeter. However, the subject of renovation and new use are also adjoining premises, a large hall, a former exhibition gallery - power plant hall, impressive premises of the First Republic ticket office, polyclinic, business units on the ground floor ring with direct connection to the exterior and of course adjacent areas. We contributed by supplying acoustic materials.
